Hlinware Privacy Policy

Effective date: 24 May 2026

Habiary is developed by Hlinware, an independent software publisher. Habiary is a local-first Windows desktop app for tracking recurring tasks, habits, reminders, and completion history.

Data Habiary stores

Habiary stores app data locally on your device. This may include:

Where your data is stored

Habiary stores its data locally in your Windows local app data folder. The app does not require an account and does not sync your data to a cloud service.

You can view the data folder from within the app by opening About / Help and selecting “Open data folder.”

Backups, imports, and exports

Habiary lets you export a backup file containing your local app data. A backup may include activities, recurrence settings, completion history, skipped dates, images, visual presets, reminder settings, optional launch paths, and other app settings.

Backup files are created only when you choose to export them or when the app creates a local safety backup before certain destructive actions such as reset or import.

If you move, upload, email, or otherwise share a backup file, you are responsible for where that file is stored and who can access it.

When you import a backup, Habiary replaces the current local app data with the contents of the selected backup.

Diagnostic logs

Habiary may create local diagnostic log files to help troubleshoot app problems. Diagnostic logs may include technical error details, local file paths, backup/import paths, activity names involved in an error, and other troubleshooting information.

Diagnostic logs are stored locally on your device unless you choose to share them with support.

Desktop integrations

Habiary is a Windows desktop app. It may use desktop integration features such as a system tray icon, optional launch on Windows startup, local file storage, custom reminder windows, and optional launching of a user-configured file or app.

Habiary does not require administrator privileges and runs under your current Windows user account.

If you configure an activity to launch an external app, file, or command, Habiary passes the configured path and arguments to Windows when you mark that activity complete. The external app or file may have its own privacy practices outside Habiary’s control.

Data sharing

Habiary does not sell your data. Habiary does not send your activities, completion history, images, settings, backups, or diagnostic logs to Hlinware or to a third-party server.

If you choose to share diagnostic logs, backup files, screenshots, or exported data with support manually, that information will only be used to investigate the issue you contacted support about.

Internet access

Habiary does not require internet access for its core habit-tracking features.

Habiary may open external web links that you choose, such as the privacy policy page.

If you install or purchase Habiary through Microsoft Store, Microsoft may process purchase, licensing, installation, crash, or diagnostic information according to Microsoft’s own privacy policy. Habiary does not control Microsoft’s collection or use of that information.

Analytics and crash reporting

Habiary does not currently use third-party analytics, advertising SDKs, or automatic crash reporting services.

User control and data deletion

You can edit or delete activities and completion logs inside the app.

You can export backups from within the app.

You can also delete Habiary’s local data from the app’s local data folder. Deleting local data may permanently remove your activities, settings, images, presets, backups, and logs.

Your data remains on your device until you delete it, reset the app data, uninstall the app, or Windows removes the app data. Before uninstalling, resetting, or deleting local data, you should export a backup if you want to keep your data.

Data security

Habiary relies on Windows user account protections and local file system permissions to protect app data stored on your device. The app does not currently encrypt its local data files separately.

Exported backup files are not separately encrypted by Habiary. You should store backup files in a safe location.

Children’s privacy

Habiary is not designed to knowingly collect information from children. Because the app stores data locally and does not transmit it to Hlinware, Hlinware does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

This privacy policy may be updated if Habiary changes how it stores, uses, or transmits data. The updated policy will be published at this same location.
